Meriam was only 22 years old when she was forced to flee to Turkey leaving her parents behind. She fled to Turkey with her two brothers for survival and a chance for a better life.

“The story of why we had to leave our parents and come here is very long and painful. My brothers and I prefer not to look at the past much anymore. We want to step into a new future from now on,”
