“This year, attending the Gatekeepers workshop on mental health and suicide prevention inspired me to become more actively involved in my community. The program provided me with valuable tools and skills to support individuals facing mental health challenges.” – Abegale, Guyana
Abegale was inspired to get involved with her community after attending the Gatekeepers workshop on mental health and suicide prevention, part of IDRF’s program in Guyana.
Equipped with suicide prevention training, she now conducts screenings, makes referrals, and offers a compassionate listening ear to those facing mental health challenges. Wherever possible, she offered support, knowing that even small gestures can have a meaningful impact on the lives of those in need.
